East Dongting Lake National Nature Reserve is situated in Yueyang city, which covers a land of 190,000hm2 founded in 1982. The Reserve?is one of the six international?important wetlands who firstly joined in “international?important wetland convention”?in 1992. Its responsibility is to protect wetland ecology and biological resources.?And in 1994, the Reserve has been approved as national nature reserve by State Council of the People’s Republic of China.
